The Workhorse and Professional Recognition Awards program is a great opportunity to support and applaud the special efforts of healthcare risk management professionals. These awards are presented at the NC Chapter Fall Business Meeting each year. NC ASHRM members are encouraged to participate by nominating a colleague for one of these awards.
The Workhorse Award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the chapter in ways that are apart from their service as a Board member or Committee chairperson. The Professional Development Committee is looking for nominations of those members whose contributions to the chapter reflect unusual and outstanding efforts. This award is not based on professional designations or qualifications, but on a member’s devotion to the work of the chapter.
The Professional Recognition Award nominee must be considered by the nominator as one of the outstanding healthcare risk management professionals in NC, a member of NC ASHRM and worked in healthcare risk management for at least three years. It can be included the nominee should have demonstrated support and contributions to NC ASHRM and its members. The nominee should also have demonstrated resourcefulness, innovation, taken self-improvement educational courses in healthcare risk management and participated in the education of healthcare and other professionals in risk management.

Nominations for NC ASHRM's 2008 Workhorse and Professional Recognition Awards are being accepted through October 31, 2008. Nomination forms are mailed to NC ASHRM members prior to the October 31, 2008 deadline. Nominations forms can also be printed from this site. Members may complete the forms on their computers, print them out and then mail or fax them to Lee Ann Scott, Chair of the Professional Development Committee, postmarked or faxed on or before October 31, 2008.
